Writing Opportunity for Foster Youth

Fostering Perspsectives, a publication about foster parenting in North Carolina, is seeking submissions for their next writing contest. Writers must be under 18 and have been in foster care at some point during their lives. 


Youth are invited to write an essay on the following topic:


Did you ever have to switch schools

because you were in foster care? What was that like?

What did you or other people do that made

switching schools easier?


All submission must include your name, age, address, and phone number. 


Deadline for submissions is February 6, 2018


First Place Prize is $100

Second Place Prize is $50

Third Place Prize is $25


All winners and runners-up will have their work published

in the next issue of Fostering Perspectives.
