The Building Blocks of Fiction

November 14, 2017

"I write to give myself strength.

I write to be the characters that I am not.

I write to explore all the things I am afraid of.

- Joss Whedon

(Author, The Avengers)

We write to explore  - new worlds, new challenges, new characters. The more we explore, the more we learn about ourselves and our place in this world.

Once each month, students in Grades 6-12 will have the opportunity to explore new worlds, new challenges, and new characters through writing. Through these workshop, my goal, as an author and a teacher, is to help you develop a passion for writing and discover new ideas inside yourself.

"The Building Blocks of Fiction" will help students explore step-by-step the basics of plotting a story from beginning to middle to end. Learn how to grab the reader’s attention, keep them interested, and wrap it up with a satisfying conclusion. Space is limited so register early!
